Kerry Powell – Reiki Master, Sacred Celebrant & Intuitive Practitioner in East Devon

I'm Kerry Powell, a Reiki Master Trainer and intuitive practitioner based in Whimple, East Devon. I created Chi-quilibrium as a calm and welcoming space where people can reconnect with balance, clarity and their own natural energy.

Throughout my life I have always felt drawn to helping others. In many roles I naturally became the person people turned to for support or guidance. Earlier in life I spent time teaching scuba diving, which allowed me to travel and experience life from a different perspective. While that chapter brought adventure and joy, it also planted a deeper awareness of the connection between wellbeing, environment and the rhythm of life.

As the years passed I found myself becoming more interested in natural approaches to health and balance. I began exploring herbal remedies, growing my own fruit and vegetables and reconnecting with meditation and grounding practices. I realised that alongside physical wellbeing, there was an equally important spiritual and energetic dimension to our lives that often gets overlooked.

My path into Reiki came almost unexpectedly. One morning I felt a strong impulse to learn Reiki, something I had barely considered before. Following that instinct led me to train with Barbara Hennessy, who became both my mentor and a great inspiration and friend. What began as a personal exploration quickly grew into a true calling.

Reiki felt natural to me from the very beginning. I experienced first-hand how energy work can gently support the body and mind, helping people release tension, restore balance and reconnect with themselves. This eventually led me to train to Reiki Master level so that I could both practice and teach Reiki to others.

Today at Chi-quilibrium I offer Reiki healing sessions, Reiki training, tarot readings and intuitive workshops, all held in a calm and supportive environment. My approach is grounded, compassionate and welcoming to everyone, whether they are new to holistic practices or already walking a spiritual path.

In 2025 I also became a Sacred Celebrant with the Sisters of Avalon, deepening my connection with seasonal rhythms, ritual and sacred space. While I am not currently offering handfastings or formal ceremonies, this training influences the women’s circles I hold and the sacred space I create for gatherings throughout the year.

For me, this work is about helping people find their own equilibrium — a place where mind, body and spirit feel aligned. Whether someone comes for Reiki, learning, guidance or simply a moment of calm, my intention is always the same: to provide a space where people feel safe, supported and able to reconnect with themselves.
